As part of the new visual “METRO” style for SharePoint 2013, there are a number of varying colour schemes & themes – listed under “Change The Look”.
This is a LOT different to the old 2007/2010 ‘color palette’ – and includes a wallpaper (background) – banner image (background) – and different colours/fonts/etc.
These are located deep within the “15” hive – there’s also the same in the “14” hive – for backwards compatable mode, I would guess…

Site Layout
Also – you can change the “Site Layout” to be either v15 – or ‘BellTown’ – which changes the navigation onto the top – not left.
Office (Default) – v15
Office (Default) – BellTown
Try It Out
You can also do a ‘try it’ of the new visual – much like a theme on WordPress – very cool.
===================================================================
Here’s a look at the ‘default’ themes – I’m sure there will be more-and-more to come – along the lines of “Wordpress” themes.
As well as some interesting questions regarding the ‘branding’ story (intranets) – from the designers out there.

Breeze

Sea Monster (WTF !!? LOL !)

Wallpapers
There’s a bunch of images that are used in the themes – found these while poking around in the “14” hive.
They’re all 1024×768 – and nice softer ‘background’ to the various themes as above.
How cool is that SEA MONSTER – love it ! LOL !!
Lots more SharePoint 2013 ahead – I’m only just ‘scratching the surface’…
More soon….
Fabulous visuals.
Would be really interesting to see the branding story now

SP2013 + Metro is definitely looking quite funky!

The default themes are cool but it still looks SharePoint, with a different color set and a different background. Themes like the ones from http://bindtuning.com are much more interesting, they are fully customizable and include a lot of features that are not included by default in the SharePoint
